When?

Important dates for the Conservative Party of Canada Leadership Election.

  • February 24/25, 2017: Leadership debate organized by the Manning Centre for Building Democracy, will be held in Ottawa, Ontario
  • February 28, 2017: Fourth official debate, to be held in Edmonton at the Maclab Theatre in English and French.
  • March 28, 2017: Date on which one must be a Conservative member in good standing in order to be eligible to vote.
    (VOTER REGISTRATION CLOSED!)
  • March 31, 2017: The last day a candidate can remove themselves from the ballot.
  • April 28, 2017: Conservative Party of Canada starts sending ballots to members by Canada Post.
  • May 27, 2017: Leadership election.

Important dates for the NDP Leadership Election:

  • March 12, 2017: Leadership debate to be held in Ottawa.
  • March 26, 2017: Leadership debate to be held in Montreal.
  • August 17, 2017: Date on which one must be an NDP member in good standing in order to be eligible to vote.
  • September 18–October 1, 2017: Voting for the first ballot begins by mail and online.
  • October 8, 2017: Voting for the second ballot ends (if required)
  • October 15, 2017: Voting for the third ballot ends (if required)
  • October 22, 2017: Voting ends for fourth ballot (if required)
  • October 29, 2017: Voting for up to fifth and final ballot, if needed.
